A Collection of Treasures
Today was a wonderful day, tres manifique. It started out with a breakfast with old family friends early in the morning (strawberry waffles are always fantastic), and then going over to my Grandparent’s place to celebrate (we listened to great Irish music). I got to talk to a few people that I love dearly on the phone, and got ready for a fun evening. For dinner I went to a local French Restaurant and had a truly amazing meal. Not to mention the owner was so kind and spoke beautiful French compliments to me…He was pretty cute too. Haha! After dinner I was able to go to the Symphony because someone had kindly given us free tickets! The Symphony included: Dvorak – Three Slavonic Dances, Williams – Suite from Star Wars, and KYR – Yosemite: Journey of Light (Symphony No. 11, world premiere). The last piece was an interdisciplinary fusion of original symphonic music and fine art photography (still and motion picture). This was quite a unique experience since most Symphonies don’t have photography as an element of the production! Symphonies have a funny way of making people very pleasantly happy. There were beautiful fountains and Christmas lights all around the area, and it gave the evening a magical feeling. It was truly a great birthday. I always wanted to spend a birthday in California with my Grandparent’s and this year it happened! It was beyond what I could have imagined. J
The past few weeks I have been looking at several Universities across the United States and Canada, and have been trying to “figure out life.” It probably won’t happen too quickly, but each day truly has a treasure in it – so I’m happy to take life at it’s own pace.
I’ve also been getting to know more family here: spending time with cousins and meeting great Aunts!
Cheers,
Amy

Happy belated birthday Amy, glad you had a good one. Good luck with the university decisions, I know it's never easy...
