Christmas is Coming...

In less than a month we leave for Australia!!! I'm pretty excited. This week we had a really nice Thanksgiving meal with our school and enjoyed some great food. It was good to have a day off. Overl the past few weekends I've gone to see the volcano, some various waterfalls, and Makapala (another school's campus). I've been almost all the way around the Island now, and there is still a lot mroe to see. Christmas is right around the corner - but it doesn't feel like it without snow. Around campus they put Christmas lights on the palm trees. It's really funny to see actually. This weekend we got a small Christmas tree and lights for our dorm room. I finished wrapping some Christmas presents and had a fun day. It was a little bittersweet though - thinking about being away from family for the first time on Christmas. Anyways, I hope you are all doing well and are enjoying life. Miss you guys!!! *big hug*

Cheers,
Amy

Going to Australia!

Hiking in North Hawaii
Originally uploaded by ::Taylor::.
Last weekend I went with a group of buddies to go hiking up North of the Island at a place called Waipio Valley. It was so much fun and very beautiful. This week I found out that I am going to Australia for my field assignment after lecture phase is over. The plan is to leave at the end of December and stay in Australia for about 2 months! Pretty exciting eh?! It will be quite the memory to be spending Christmas in Australia. The weather has been pretty nice here, and hardly no rain at all. This weekend kicks off the Kona Coffee Fest - apparently, Kona Coffee is some of the best in the world. Being a coffee drinker myself - I must say, the coffee here is really fantastic. I might have to check out some cuppings (term for coffee tasting events). I'm still learning a lot in class, and enjoying getting to know so many different people. This weekend I am hoping to travel South on the Island and see more beaches and scenery. The Southern part of the Island isn't really publicized that much, so it will be interested to go exploring! I hope all is well with you, I hear that back home it's snowing!!! Crazy. Take care, and feel free to write sometime.

Cheers,
Amy
